Qerime Alimovski (OH 2007)

Qerime had a very successful debating and mooting career during her time at Haileybury, which continued well into her years at Monash University where Qerime became a certified adjudicator. Qerime competed nationally in various public speaking competitions and was nationally ranked as number 2 in Australia in 2008. Her success as a public speaker and debater earned her scholarships to Bond University to complete a Bachelor of Laws but decided, in a very last minute decision, to steer towards a career in science.

With that decision in place, Qerime completed her Honours degree and Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biochemistry & Pharmacology in 2011 with high distinction from Monash University. Since then, Qerime has established a successful career as a Flavourist and is currently employed by one of the largest flavour houses in the world (a US based company called Sensient Technologies who are global leaders in flavours & colours for the food industry with over 50 sites around the world).

Qerime chemically engineers, designs and formulates flavours for the food and beverage industry by creating flavour concepts for alcoholic beverages, dairy products, confectionery, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. There are only 7 certified flavourists in Australia and we are proud that Qerime is one of them! Qerime's occupation is very specific and she is in high demand by manufacturers around the world. Qerime is lucky to travel the world for work inspiration and has tasted some of the finest cuisines the world has to offer - and her company encourages this creativity, even if it means a weekend trip to Rome to be inspired by red wine for a project! Qerime loves her job!
