The award is presented to a person(s) who has provided significant service to the Old Haileyburians Association including but not limited to;
- OHA Clubs
- OHA Council
- OHA Services
At a dinner recognising volunteers on Tuesday evening, OHA President, Cameron van den Dungen ('98) recognised three significant individuals within the OHA for their extraordinary commitment. They were as follows;
Ian Clydesdale ('77) - Ian took over as the OHA Treasurer in 2009. Ian provides countless hours of service to the organisation through monthly and annual reporting, the organisation of auditors and the submission of various regulatory reports. The OHA is in a very sound position financially and it is through Ian's leadership and support that this is the case.
Sophie Leggos (2008) - Sophie took over the running of the OHA Netball Club six years ago. During that time Sophie has been a pillar of strength managing up to five teams on a weekly basis and ensuring that not only are the teams at capacity, but membership fees are paid and that all players are comfortable at the level they are playing. Sophie has taken on the role of President and it is through her supurb volunteerism that the club is so strong today.
Mark Thompson ('82) - Mark has been in charge of the OHA Lawn Bowls team for the past twelve years. Mark is an extremely enthusiastic leader of this club and organises a wonderful annual day against other APS alumni groups. Mark ensures that the Bowls team is always at full strength and he remains loyal to those who have participated over a long period of time as well as welcoming some of the younger members. Mark also assists with coaching a Haileybury Lawn Bowls team. Mark was unable to attend on the night of the dinner.
Congratulations Ian, Sophie and Mark.
