Brenton Loughnan’s Networking Success Story!
Last year Brenton Loughnan (OH 2012) attended the Young Professionals Networking Event, hosted by the OHA. Brenton says it’s the best $40 he has ever spent!
Brenton enjoyed the Young Professionals Networking Event last year. At this event, we called on 10 experts in their field, to provide guidance and advice to young alumni who attended. The event was structured similar to speed-dating where we stationed these experts at tables and every 5-10 minutes, guests could move from one expert to another – meeting and hearing about their careers.
Brenton explained that after meeting up with a number of the experts, he was particularly grateful for the introduction to Ian Herman (OH ’83), Chief Operating Officer at Grant Thornton.
Since this introduction, Ian has assisted Brenton in securing an initial internship with Grant Thornton as an Associate Consultant. Brenton hopes this translates into a permanent position after the internship concludes.
Brenton says, “I just wanted to thank the OHA for all the help, couldn’t have done it without this opportunity. Looking forward to the next professional event already.”
Congratulations Brenton! We look forward to following your achievements!
