Latin Language Assistant

• Reinforce speaking skills either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of students
• Casual position across all Melbourne campuses

Responsibilities

The role includes the following responsibilities:

• Reinforce speaking skills either on a one-to-one basis or with small groups of students
• Help students to deepen understanding of concepts covered in class or extending those whose proficiency exceeds expectations for a particular year level
• Differentiate reading materials to suit the different levels of applicable language fluency of students
• Assist in the preparation of teaching resources for a particular year level
• Keep records of student progress in their applicable language development
• Maintain ongoing communication with applicable language teaching staff regarding student progress and any behavioural issues
• Where required, assist in applicable language classroom activities and/or extra-curricular activities

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the role you will bring the following with you:

• Native speaker of applicable language
• Sound knowledge of applicable language history and culture
• Familiarity with the Victorian and Australian applicable language curriculum
• Experience as a Languages teacher or assistant in senior years applicable language classrooms
