Hospitality Manager (Paid Role)

POSITION: HOSPITALITY MANAGER (PAID ROLE)
TASKS:
• Manage the bar and canteen operations at the club when required.
• Ensure that an adequate food safety plan is in place for canteen operations.
• Ensure appropriate licences are held by the Club and displayed as required.
• Manage the sale of liquor in accordance with the provisions of the Liquor Control Commission licence as held by the Club.
• Ensure that adequate equipment is available for providing the canteen services.
• Establish a menu of goods for sale that provides variety that will attract all members and visitors to purchase goods from canteen.
• Ensure goods are purchased at the best (but not necessarily the cheapest) rates possible.
• Account for all purchases and receipts and prepare a report for the Executive Revenue Streams
• Co-ordinate volunteers for both the canteen and bar.
• Undertake tasks at the request of the President, Executive or General Committee.
• Assist in the organisation of all club functions.
Thursday Nights
• Purchase and be responsible for all meals for the players post training and supplies for the bar.
• Work with the committee to organise volunteers as required.
Gamedays
• To provide canteen and bar facilities to patrons on match days and functions.
• Ensure appropriate licences are held by the Club and displayed as required.
• Purchase goods as required.
• Manage the sale of goods as required.
• Organise volunteers / staffing for all bar and canteen operations as required.
• Ensure that the canteen is open for business from the commencement of the first game at home games.
• Work with the Major Events Co-ordinator to organise all food for matchday luncheons.
• Manage the bar operations post-game.
Club Functions (eg. Jumper Presentation, Cocktail Night, Auction Night, Best and Fairest, Grand Final Breakfast)
• Work with the Major Events Coordinator to facilitate the running of these nights.
• Organises the logistics of pulling together these events (from booking venues, catering, marketing etc.)
KEY COMPETENCIES (SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE):
• Demonstrated ability to manage a team, including casual staff.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a commitment to open, honest, two-way and frequent communication.
• Demonstrated experience with engaging various stakeholders and the ability to influence people at all levels within the organisation as well as to interact and engage with external stakeholders.
• Ability to work flexible hours across 7 days during the football season.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
• A knowledge of all requirements for food handling and service of alcohol.
