2024 COACHES

DANIEL WARD

Senior Men’s

Daniel has coached our Men’s Senior Eighteen since 2017, immediately leading the team to the C-Grade Premiership and then showing resilience post-Covid to lead the team to the B-Grade Premiership in 2022. He demonstrates great values in and around the club and teaches our players much more than on-field football skills and strategies. His work in developing a young team has paid off and knowing that we defeated 6 different teams in A-Grade last year will give us confidence in 2024.

DAVID LAPPAGE

Senior Women’s

David comes on board as coach of our Women’s team in 2024. Having previously coached the OHAFC Under 19’s from 2007-2009, the Senior Men in 2010-2011 and the school First XVIII from 2012-2019, he is looking forward to coaching senior girls for the first time. A teacher at the school and having coached the Girl’s 2nds over the past two years, he is already making an impact in enticing past students down to the club to continue playing football and representing the mighty Hearts.

JEREMY BOURKE

Senior Men’s Reserves

As a player, Jeremy was a fierce competitor playing 81 games for the Bloods from 2001-2005, representing the Big V during this time. He then took on several administrative roles as General Manager of the VAFA, CEO of the NFL. Jeremy has had many coaching roles over the last 15 years, which have included Assistant Coaching roles for VAFA Victoria Representative Teams, Knox Seniors and the school First XVIII. Jeremy brings a wealth of knowledge about the game and, in assisting Daniel Ward, will be a great asset to the OHAFC Football program.

DAVID CONNELL

Under 19s

David is an OHAFC Life Member, having played 197 games. He is a former club captain, triple Premiership player, dual Best and Fairest winner, member of the Team of the Century and represented the VAFA on multiple occasions. David is a passionate supporter of the OHAFC and having been involved with the team for such a long stint, is very excited to lead the new generation of club newcomers. A Runner’s Up in 2023, David will be doing his utmost to go one better in 2024.
