Stay Connected with Ian Herman (OH ’83)

Today we release the ninth edition in our OHA Stay Connected Series #2 – Stay Connected with Ian Herman (OH ’83). A proud Haileyburian, Ian is currently Chief Operating Officer at Grant Thornton Australia. He is responsible for enabling the firm to be responsive and agile, to drive and support change by streamlining operations, increasing efficiencies and championing continuous improvement. He is part of the National Leadership Team. Grant Thornton Australia has more than 1,200 people working in offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. and more than 40,000 people across over 130 countries.

Ian was a School Prefect in his final year at Haileybury and a member of the School 1st XV111 that won the Premiership and finished Runners Up in the prestigious Herald Shield. He played 62 games in the VFL with Carlton (48 games) and Richmond (14), being a member of the 1987 Carlton Reserves Premiership team. He also had stints with Sandringham (VFA) and Collegians (VAFA) Ian is a former President of the Old Haileyburians and we were delighted to have him back as part of our Boutique Luncheon series this year.
