Where are they Now – Peter Robinson (OH 1988)

Since graduating Peter Robinson (OH 1988) has beautifully balanced work, family, friends and pursuing his passions.

Pete completed a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) at Monash University. He then fulfilled his dream of travelling to Canada. He desperately wanted to obtain his Ski Instructors license there but sadly he spent all his money prior to the course and headed home after three months. His career kicked off in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, working for Coca-Cola in Moorabbin, where he worked in sales for 8 years, finishing in Sydney at their Head Office, heading up National Operations Vending business.

He married the gorgeous Sarah in Sydney in 2000 and moved back to Melbourne where he joined Cadbury Schweppes. Pete undertook various state and national sales roles eventually managing the massive Woolworths account, before leaving to work at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and heading up sales and marketing for Travel Vaccines. The lure of FMCG was too strong and it took him to Asahi Beverages in various national category, strategy, and sales roles before moving to Mondelez International (Cadbury, Oreo etc) two years ago where he is Head of Sales – Independent Grocery.

With Sarah, they have two fantastic children – son Charlie (22) (Haileybury 2004-2007) who recently completed a Bachelor of Industrial Design at Monash University, and daughter Ellie (20) (Haileybury 2007-2009) who is a vet nurse. They have been blissfully living in the beachside suburb of Bonbeach for the past 7 years.

Over the last 10 years in his spare time, Pete has been busy competing in endurance events and triathlons including the 2012 and 2015 Melbourne Ironman. He is a passionate skier and is excited about heading to Japan in January with Charlie and still close friends from Haileybury: Andrew Stewart (OH 1989), Chris Jeffares (OH 1989), Andrew Terry (OH 1987) and Chris Tremewen (OH 1988). Pete can often be spotted happily walking or running along Beach Road with his other mates from the Class of 1988, Robert Plecher and Robert Graham.
