In Loving Memory – Graham Drake (OH ’67)

Graham Drake (OH ’67) sadly passed away after a brief illness on 16 July 2021. Diane, Graham’s wife, has provided a touching tribute. “Gra was an amazing man a wonderful husband of 50 years, a devoted and deeply loved father to our 3 children and our 8 grand children, and a wonderful role model. Graham was a teacher for over 30 years, a social worker, ran a welfare centre for the Uniting Church on the Gold Coast, crisis care centres, plus various welfare roles, counselling, accommodation provision, food relief, working with the homeless, marginalised youth, youths in prison and detention centres, indigenous people in the NT and communities, many roles unpaid. Gra had no funeral only wishing to have a time of telling stories over a meal with family at Christmas in Qld.

Graham was one of the founding boys who started at Keysborough from Brighton campus. He has very fond memories of his years at Haileybury and a number of his teachers. He kept in touch with Peter Harris and Rev Elmore, who greatly influenced Graham in his faith journey and as a man of God whom he deeply respected.”

Our thoughts are with the Diane and the family during this difficult time.
