An Amazing day on the Peninsula!

Starting and finishing at the beautiful, Lindenderry Estate in Red Hill, attendees were treated to a day of wonderful sunshine and virtually no wind.

Coffee, pastries and good cheer were in abundance as cyclists saddled up for a day of just over 60km in the sadlle. It was wonderful to have the support of bike mechanics, suppirt vehicles, moto scouts and road closures along the route, making the event extremely safe.

It was great to see cyclists of all levels join the event. We were fortunate to have the company of 2003 Tour de France green jersey winner, Baden Cooke and equally fortunate to have alongside us Ross McDonald (OH ’64) and Lex Lasry (OH ’66), proving that age is no barrier to the rolling hills of the Peninsula. Eight Haileybury mothers joined us on our journey – all of whom will be back next year after having an awesome day!

A stop at Pier 10 at the half way point for more coffee and treats did the trick as the convesation amongst those, many who had not met each other before was plentiful.

A short roll into the finish line around lunch time to be greeted by showers, pizza, wine and beer did the trick.

The event raised over $2000 for Haileybury Foundation, supporting students who would not otherwise have the opportunity to attend Haileybury.
