Important notice – Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT)

At the core of the School’s educational offering, Haileybury delivers a Parallel Education Model which provides the ‘best of both worlds’ in one school: while learning in separate classes, girls and boys share the same campus, allowing them to socialise and enjoy co-curricular activities together.

Traditionally, Haileybury conducted its Parallel Education Model via two registered schools; Haileybury College and Haileybury Girls College. This year, Haileybury moved to a single, co-educational registration and this has necessitated an application to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) in order to assist us to maintain the balance between girl and boy students across our campuses.

Achieving and maintaining gender balance will assist our students as they develop and cultivate mutual respect between students of all genders while at school and beyond their schooling life.

Many other independent schools have applied for and received exemptions to manage their gender balances.

As part of this application process, Haileybury is required to provide public notice in the manner and below form ordered by VCAT.
