Where are they Now – Fabian Capomolla (OH ’94)

Fabian Capomolla (OH ’94) also known as The Hungry Gardener finally found his passion in food and gardens after completing a Bachelor of Business at Monash University and working in Advertising for 10 years. In 2009, Fabian co-founded the Little Veggie Patch Co. to help people grow food in their own homes. What began as a start-up operating out of his shed in Moorabbin, grew a strong online presence supported by a prominent nursery in St Kilda East, and even added a garden club called ‘Pop Up Patch’ to the carpark roof of Federation Square.

Fabian has written 4 books and appeared as a guest presenter on Channel 10’s ‘The Living Room’. In 2014, he sold his share of the Little Veggie Patch Co to invest more in the other passion in his life – his family. They lived in Lucca, Italy for a year where he worked in a community garden and experienced growing food the Italian way.

Fabian is currently enjoying his role as Marketing Manager at Plants Management Australia Pty Ltd. Gardening and creating veggie patches were incredibly popular activities during Melbourne’s recent lockdowns whereby the positive effects not only on the environment but also on mental health were appreciated. May this love affair continue to thrive!
