IN LOVING MEMORY – Robert Adrian Carter (OH 1967)

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of alumni member Robert Carter (OH 1967).

Robert was a prominent student at Haileybury from 1962 – 1967. He was dux of the Matriculation class in his final year and went on to Graduate from Monash University in Urban Economics.

Robert’s career saw him hold prominent positions that resulted in achievements in supporting community housing for disadvantaged people and significant community infrastructure development, particularly in Wellington, New Zealand and Brisbane. For his contribution to Housing and Urban Development he received a Public Service Medal in the Queens Honours awards, 2001.

He held the following positions: Director General Housing – Wellington NZ 1989-1992, Director General Housing Melbourne, Victoria 1991-1993. General Manager Brisbane City Council 1993 -2000. More recently, he became a mentor to those aspiring to work in the same field.

Our thoughts are with Robert’s family during this difficult time.
