OHA Thoroughbred Club – Barney streets his rivals!

Commencing as a short priced favourite, Barney Allen blitzed his rivals in the 1600m maiden race, winning by 7 lengths.

The win was Barney’s first at only his seventh start and lifted his prize money to just over $33,000. He is trained by Lara based trainer, Alisa Hinch and works out of Geelong.

The OHA thoroughbred Club aims to race more horses over the coming years. Horses race in the Haileybury colours of magenta and black and syndicates usually comprise twenty community members. Horses are generally named after a Haileybury connection. In this case, Barney Allen was the first student to walk through the gates at Haileybury in 1892.

A previous investment, Magenta and Black was sold by the Thoroughbred Club in 2016.
