Where are they Now – Izak Rosenfeld (OH 2010)

Izak Rosenfeld (OH 2010) is the Associate General Counsel for Access Now, an international human rights organization that defends and extends the digital rights of users at risk around the world. In his role, he acts as global in-house counsel, advising on international operations and compliance, while facilitating the organization’s policy, advocacy, data privacy, Digital Security Helpline, grants, and RightsCon programs. He is a licensed Attorney & Counselor at Law in the State of New York (USA) and a Barrister & Solicitor in the Province of Ontario (Canada).

Izak has received recognition from a number of organizations focused on law, technology, and dispute resolution, including being recognized in “Who’s Who in America – Legal” by Marquis, and being recognized as a “Future Leader of the Profession in Arbitration” by the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) Canada Branch, Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and the Chartered Institute of Quantitative Surveyors (CIQS). Izak is also the recipient of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, for his work in helping the community/environment (through community service and a residential project at an orphanage in Nepal) and completing an expedition in the Himalayas. In 2015, Izak received the Leaders in Communities Award for outstanding service to the community, through leadership of initiatives in Australia. Finally, Izak has been recognized for his contribution to pro bono service by the Federal Bar Association in the 2021 “StepUp Pro Bono Challenge” for completing over one hundred (100) hours of pro bono service in a one-year period.

In his personal life, Izak is an avid snowboarder, saxophonist, motorcyclist, and sailor, and loves to cook and travel (having visited almost 60 countries). He has competed in a number of sports at the national level, including in the Australian National Rowing Championships, the Australian National Athletics (Track & Field) Championships, and the Australian University Snowsports Competition (in Snowboard Grand Slalom (GS)).
