Where are they Now – Emily McLean (OH 2011)
Emily McLean (OH 2011) graduated from Monash University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy – Advanced Research (Honours). Her honours thesis investigated the relationship between body composition and musculoskeletal pain. Excitingly, the systematic review component of her thesis was recently accepted for publication in PLOS ONE.
Emily never truly left Haileybury as she has worked as their athletics coach since 2012 and as the team’s physiotherapist after graduating from university. In addition to APS sport, Emily has been fortunate enough to work for both Athletics Victoria and Athletics Australia, most recently traveling with the Victorian All schools team to Perth in 2019.
Emily continues to pursue her personal goals on the track, competing in the 400m hurdles at the 2021 Australian Athletics Championships and, academically, through her post graduate studies in sports physiotherapy at La Trobe University.
We wish you all the very best Emily, on and off the track!
